Saturday brings 14 NHL games and a big college football night. The useful question is not “How many picks can we squeeze onto a slip?” It is “Which price deserves a closer look?” Dallas–Pittsburgh leads our research list. Georgia–Alabama is a wait-for-the-final-checks game.

Research checked October 10, 2026, at 12:07 p.m. Eastern (EDT). These are watchlist items, not confirmed betting edges. Prices below were observed on public sportsbook pages during this noon research session; those pages do not provide a verified last-update time or an authenticated Ontario offer. Today’s NHL slate

The official NHL schedule lists the following games. All times are Eastern. The October 9 schedule puts Detroit, Pittsburgh, Columbus and Anaheim on the second night of a back-to-back today. That is a reason to check rotation and travel, not an automatic bet against them.

Our price review focuses on the evening games. If you read this after an early game starts, its listing is schedule context only—not a pregame invitation.

Dallas–Pittsburgh: inspect the moneyline first

Review limit: Dallas moneyline at -150 or better, after both starters and lineups are checked. This is a ceiling for further research, not a claim that -150 is profitable. At that price, Dallas needs to win more than 60% of bets to break even. We have not established that win probability.

BetMGM’s Dallas editorial page displayed Stars -150 / Penguins +125; Dallas -1.5 (+154) / Pittsburgh +1.5 (-190); and over 6 (-125) / under 6 (+105). We use the NHL’s 7 p.m. EDT start, rather than the page’s EST label. These published quotes are a reference point; availability and account prices may differ.

Why start here? The NHL matchup feed has Dallas at 2–2–0 and Pittsburgh at 2–2–1. Dallas’s team goals-against average is 1.50 through four games; Pittsburgh’s is 3.00 through five. Jake Oettinger has a .967 save percentage in three appearances. That is promising early form, but three games cannot tell us his true level for tonight.

RotoWire labels Oettinger confirmed and Arturs Silovs expected. Those are the service’s labels, not independent team confirmation from us. It also lists Dallas’s Matt Duchene on long-term injured reserve and Pittsburgh’s Justin Brazeau and Ryan Graves on injured reserve. Check final availability before leaning on either team’s depth.

Why it could lose: Pittsburgh is at home, one bad period can erase a rest advantage, and Dallas’s early defensive numbers can cool off. Silovs is only projected. The NHL feed also lists Sergei Murashov with a .938 save percentage in two appearances; a starter change would mean reviewing a different matchup.

Why not grab the bigger puck-line payout? Dallas -1.5 needs a two-goal win under the applicable rules. A one-goal win can cash a full-game moneyline and lose the puck line. The total has a separate problem: strong Dallas goaltending points one way, while uncertain Pittsburgh goaltending points another. No total or puck-line recommendation here. Pass on the moneyline at a worse price than -150, on an unexplained goalie change, or if the market terms remain unclear.

Toronto–Colorado: do not recycle Thursday’s line

RotoWire projects Anthony Stolarz and Mackenzie Blackwood for tonight; both are marked expected. It lists John Tavares out and Oliver Ekman-Larsson day-to-day. Confirm Toronto’s lineup and both goalies before deciding how to approach this game.

The Toronto editorial odds page still showed October 8 against Vegas when checked. Those prices belong to a different opponent. We are excluding them. Without a verified quote for tonight’s matchup or a relevant player prop, there is no Toronto pick or invented price target on this card.

Georgia–Alabama: check the number, then the lineup

Alabama’s official schedule has Georgia visiting Tuscaloosa at 6:30 p.m. Central—7:30 p.m. Eastern. The ESPN schedule also lists USC–Penn State at 7:30 p.m., Kansas–Utah at 8 p.m. and Boise State–Fresno State at 10:30 p.m.

BetMGM’s public Georgia–Alabama event page displayed Georgia +1.5 (1.91 decimal) / Alabama -1.5 (1.91), over 51.5 (1.95) / under 51.5 (1.87), and moneylines of Georgia 1.98 / Alabama 1.85 during this check. Decimal 1.91 means a $10 winning bet returns $19.10 including the stake. These are public-page observations, not confirmed executable prices.

Decision: wait, rather than force a side or total. We could not verify the final player-availability report through the SEC’s public report archive. Check quarterback and offensive-line availability, a current local weather forecast, and a fresh two-sided price. No under bet based on weather assumptions, and no player prop based on an unverified workload.

What could spoil an eventual under: turnovers that hand over short fields, explosive plays and overtime. What could spoil either side: late availability changes and paying too much for a close matchup. Our filter is to avoid a worse price than 1.91 for the exact ±1.5 spread while researching—not to endorse either side. Moving to another spread or total requires a new assessment.

Baseball and NBA: two more checks

The official MLB feed lists White Sox–Guardians at 8 p.m. Eastern in the AL Division Series, with Sean Burke and Gavin Williams as probable pitchers. Probable does not mean final. Check confirmed starters, lineups and bullpen availability; we do not have a verified current account price to support a pick.

The NBA slate from ESPN includes Clippers–Raptors at 6:30 p.m. and Philadelphia–Boston at 8 p.m. These are preseason games. Player minutes and planned rest matter more than a familiar name on a prop menu. No minutes confirmation and no verified prop quote means no prop pick.

Before putting anything on your slip

Our Dallas review is intended for a full-game moneyline including overtime and shootouts. A regulation-only market is a different bet: a tie after 60 minutes loses a team selection in a three-way market and wins the draw selection. A draw-no-bet offer can refund the stake instead. Read the exact offer.

MGM Springfield’s March 12, 2026 house rules, printed pages 58–59, include overtime in pregame hockey moneylines, puck lines and totals unless marked Regular Time; shootouts add one goal to the winner and game total. Those venue rules do not verify an Ontario offer. Because the exact local terms remain unverified, today’s items stay a watchlist.

Keep any bets you eventually choose small and separate. A long Saturday slate does not require a long parlay. Record the price you actually took, and pass when an important check is missing.
