Lane Hutson has found two shots in eight of nine games. Tyler Bertuzzi has stayed below two in seven of nine. Same game, opposite shooting stories—and neither needs a goal to matter.
Those are our first looks for Montreal at Chicago tonight. Colorado's Artturi Lehkonen brings the flashier scoring streak, but we are leaving that one alone. A good run and a good bet are not automatically the same thing.
Research checked October 23 at 12:08 p.m. EDT. FanDuel reference quotes were observed at 11:27 a.m. for Hutson and Bertuzzi, and 11:26 a.m. for Lehkonen. They are earlier prices, not verified current offers or Ontario-specific quotes. All times Eastern. No confirmed bets at publication.

1+ point
Earlier quote · 11:26 a.m. EDT, Oct. 23 · Score as of 11:29 a.m.

Read our takeOfficial current game logs: Hutson, Bertuzzi and Lehkonen. Full previous-season logs are linked in each take below.
Hutson 2+ shots: keep the target at two
Hutson's nine-game log contains 21 shots. Eight nights reached two, and none needed more than four. That is a steadier opening to the season than a single big shooting night doing all the work.
But last season gives us a useful brake: 39 of 82 games reached two shots. This year's run is a change worth watching, not proof that two shots have become automatic.
Montreal is also adjusting without Nick Suzuki, who is out two to four weeks. Hutson remains on RotoWire's projected first power-play unit, but a changed unit can change the looks he gets. More responsibility does not guarantee more shots.
Our take: watch 2+ shots at -120 or better; wait for a fresh offer. The earlier -128 is more than we want to pay. At -120, the break-even rate is about 54.5%. That is a price limit, not our estimate of his chance. An evening spent moving the puck rather than shooting it can leave him at one.
Bertuzzi under 1.5: the role is the warning
Bertuzzi has ten shots across nine games, with seven unders at this target. That is the appeal. The risk is that an under 1.5 has almost no room for a change of pace: two ordinary shots are enough to lose it.
His full previous-season log went under in 32 of 79 games. RotoWire also projects him on Chicago's first power-play unit. We are not treating him as a player without an offensive role just because the recent shot count is low.
Our take: watch only at +100 or better, with a fresh price. The earlier -106 does not meet that limit. Even money needs a 50% win rate to break even, and seven recent unders do not establish that chance. A couple of power-play looks or one busy shift can end the argument.
RotoWire projects Jakub Dobes and Spencer Knight in goal; neither is confirmed at this check. Montreal last played Tuesday, while Chicago last played Saturday. This is not a second-night fatigue angle.
Lehkonen 1+ point: admire the streak, pass on the chase
Lehkonen has a point in each of his last five games and seven of ten overall. Eleven points is a lively start. Here is the part that makes us hesitate: eight of those points are goals, on just 16 shots. Half his shots have gone in.
That does not mean he cannot score tonight. It means we do not want to assume this finishing pace keeps rolling. The full previous-season log shows a point in 37 of 70 games, a much calmer picture than five straight hits.
RotoWire projects him on Colorado's second power-play unit, with Andrei Vasilevskiy and Mackenzie Blackwood expected in goal. Those goalies are projections, not confirmations. Both clubs last played Tuesday, according to the Lightning and Avalanche schedules.
Our take: pass at the earlier -120; no entry price today. A quiet finishing night, or chances that end without a goal or assist credited to him, leaves this prop short. We would rather miss a winner than chase a streak we cannot price confidently.
Two watches, one pass, no forced parlay
Montreal at Chicago starts at 8 p.m.; Tampa Bay at Colorado at 9 p.m. Our interest is in the exact player markets above. We are not substituting a team winner or bundling them into a parlay just to have a ticket.
These are full-game props. FanDuel Ontario's hockey rules include overtime unless a period or 60-minute limit is stated, and exclude player shootout statistics unless explicitly included. Standard team moneylines, puck lines and totals include overtime and the shootout settlement goal; regulation-only markets are different contracts. Market and location terms govern.
Trends gave us the starting shortlist; official game logs and current team news helped us decide what to watch and what to leave alone. Trends is coming soon to BetSlip Live. Historical hit rates help frame the question—they do not promise the next result.
